See What Went on At SBEIII!!!  What a Great Time!

“You could overhear conversations between kids talking about their lost parent. Other kids felt the same way they did. They were not different or alone in their feelings. I saw one little boy let go of his balloon and he said, ‘This is for you, Dad’ as he looked towards the heavens.”

Snowball Express is dedicated to helping the children of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces since 9/11.

From December 16-20, 2008, 927  of these children and 487 surviving parents/legal guardians had the trip of a life time to be with others who are just like them.

The smiles found on these links of the children's faces who attended this year's event tells our donors and supporters that what went on this year (and has gone on for the previous two years) is "magical" . This was what the event meant to one family in particular:

To Everyone at Snowball Express,

It has been a long journey for my five-year-old son and I.  After we lost our beloved daddy and husband,  to a PTSD related suicide, it seemed as if we would never smile again.

He was not included as a casualty of the war, although he served bravely in Iraq.  Not long after his death, I contacted your organization in hopes that my son could meet other children who had experienced similar loss.  Honestly, I did not expect to hear back from Snowball Express because my husband did not die in combat.

Much to my surprise, I received notification that my son and I would be attending the first annual Snowball Express!!  I also learned that it was not just a trip to Disneyland.  It was an invitation into a family of caring people who welcomed us with open arms.  The friendship, laughter, and love has changed our lives.  We are smiling again and when we need to cry, there are people there to listen.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,

Second Day - Universal Studio Day

Third Day - Disneyland

Donations are being accepted for the 2009 event where we expect to have between 2000-2500 children between the ages of 5-18 attending and accompanying parents/legal guardians.  Please help us bring hope and new memories to these children also. Click here to Donate!

Their heroes died as Americans. Let's step up as Americans and help their families.
