Daniel Bertolino

Daniel Bertolino lives in Murietta, California and is a sophomore at Vista Murietta High School. He's on the swim and water polo teams, likes to skateboard and hang out with his buddies. He's also an Eagle Scout and earned his first merit badge in aviation.

Daniel’s father, an Army platoon sergeant and helicopter mechanic, dreamed of flying and had hoped to one day take Daniel up, but never had the chance. He was a Bronze Star and Purple Heart winner who lost his life in Iraq.

Snowball Express, with a lot of help from our friends, arranged for Daniel to fly in an L-39 jet trainer from Worldwide WarBirds in Chino. piloted by Barry Hancock. Click here to see the video, which was shown just prior to the arrival of the same L-39 with Daniel aboard, as part of an F/A-18 Missing Man flyover at the start of this year’s Oakley party.
