Michael S. Hogg is presently serving as the Executive Director for Snowball Express an organization committed to providing “hope and new memories for the children of our nation’s fallen heroes.”Entering active duty service in 1985, he attended the United States Air Force Officers Training School at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Upon receiving his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant, he entered Air Training Command and received his qualifications as a Weapons Systems Officer. He left the Air Force to attend seminary in 1991.
Mike is ordained by the Presbyterian Church (USA). He reentered active duty service as a United States Navy/ Marine Corps Chaplain in August of 1994. Chaplain Hogg’s initial assignment was to the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro in Santa Ana, California. This FMF tour was followed by a sea tour aboard the USS DENVER (LPD 9) located in San Diego, California in November 1996. Upon completion of his assignment to the USS DENVER, Chaplain Hogg was assigned to Naval Base Coronado, San Diego, California as base chaplain in November 1998. He completed duty ashore and reported to the 3d Force Services Support Group in Okinawa, Japan as a battalion chaplain and then as the Deputy Group Chaplain where deployed to Iraq, Korea, the Philippines and the tsunami affected region of Thailand for Operation United Support in 2004. Mike retired as the Command Chaplain at NAS JRB Fort Worth on 1 Dec 2008 and assumed his duties as Director of Operation for Snowball Express on 1 Jan 2009 .
His proudest achievement is being married to Lara Lee and Father to their three children Alex 18, Erin 13 and Michael age 6.
